- His Holiness Aram I meets with the Moderator of the
Church of Scotland 02/25/2003 On Tuesday, 25 February, His Holiness
attended the reception given by the U.K. Ambassador to Lebanon, Richard
Kinshen, at his residence, in honor of the Moderator of the Church
of Scotland, Right Reverend Dr Finlay MacDonald. Representatives of
the Middle East Council of Churches and other ecumenical bodies also
attended the luncheon. The moderator and His Holiness discussed common
ecumenical concerns related to the World Council of Churches and the
ecumenical movement at large and shared their concerns regarding the
crisis in the Middle East. Bishop MacDonald and the Catholicos also
discussed the role of the Catholicosate in promoting spiritual and
cultural values in the Armenian communities around the world.
